New Athearn Genesis rebuilding replacing MRC decoder with Soundtraxx DSX and Zimo MX63 Decoders and new speakers $240.  Number boards get rewired to be controlled by the decoder and be dimmer.   Headlight and rear-light get replaced with Golden white LEDs.  Soundtraxx cam get installed under the second engine.

ZIMO decoder plus installation
Zimo decoders have the best back EMF on the market with the most flexibility.
Their drive is extremely smooth with a lot of configuration capability which
allows to emulate the prototype while still getting excellent model performance.
